Activities
The tennis
club runs several teams in the summer, 3 men’s and 2 ladies in the Bucks
LTA shield competition, 3 in the High Wycombe District evening
mixed league and 2 in the Aylesbury evening leagues.
In the winter there are similar teams.
Contact your team captain if you would like to be selected. Club nights are
held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6pm onwards. Team match practice is on
Monday’s from 7pm for men and Wednesday for ladies or mixed from 6pm on
alternate Wednesdays. Internal tournaments for men’s, ladies and mixed doubles as well as men’s and ladies singles are held annually. Members are encouraged to participate in all the
activities held but must be available to play on finals/championship finals
days as appropriate.
Other special tournaments are held throughout the season with an
emphasis on friendly and enjoyable tennis. Please refer to the schedule
of events for all dates.
New Members
The club aims to encourage a competitive standard of tennis but not
at the expense of the friendly atmosphere for which it has grown its
reputation. New members are welcomed at club evenings. If you would like to
join or obtain further information on the club please contact Margaret
Plummer.
Parent Members
This membership category is intended to encourage parents who wish
to play with their children. It allows parents to play with their children
during the week until 5pm or at any other times when the courts are free
although full members do take priority. This membership does not allow
parents to play together without their children.
Junior Members
Janet Jamieson is the junior coach and she is keen to help our
children play tennis to their highest standard. Coaching is being offered at
an additional charge of £25 on a Sunday mornings with the registration day
on April 19th to the 19th July. Additional Junior
sessions 5-7pm are held on a Monday commencing 20th April with Paul Mason. For additional fees. New for
2009-Unsupervised Junior free court time is every weekday from 4-6pm
Coaching- Senior Members
Senior Coaching at a fee will be run on Thursday
evenings and Saturday Mornings by Paul Mason- Please see Notice boards or
the Web site for details
Mini Tennis
Mini
tennis is for children of 4 to 8 years and the club provides racquets and
balls for these sessions which will be held on Sunday Mornings. Details
available from 19th April

Visitors
Members are welcome to bring visitors (maximum of 3
times a year) depending upon court availability. A fee of £2 for an adult
and £1 for a junior must be paid immediately to a committee member.
100 Club
This gives a large contribution to club funds. For a £2
monthly direct debit or an annual charge of £24 there is a monthly draw for
a prize of £25 (£50 twice yearly) Please contact Ruth Schlaepfer should you
wish to join.

Development
The club has recently installed floodlights on 2 courts
to enhance the amount of playing time throughout the year. Fees are £1 per
person per hour for doubles and £2 per person per hour for singles.

Proper tennis shoes must be worn to protect the
court surface We also request recognised tennis clothing be worn

remember to slacken the nets after use

Keys
Keys to the clubhouse are available to senior members
from Margaret Nash at a cost of £4.
Balls
The club provides free balls for club night play. At
other times there are used balls available in the clubhouse or
alternatively new balls may be obtained from Chris Collins at a price £5.00
for 4
Wimbledon
Tickets
The club is very fortunate to be allocated six pairs of
Wimbledon tickets this year. There is a draw for these in May and all
members have an equal chance of being able to purchase them. Please note that the tickets must be used by the recipient only and are
under no circumstances to be sold or given away. Please see the club
notice board for details.
